Training and Learning

Why provide training for advisers in Bradford?

Ongoing training is essential for all independent advisers. No one can learn to be an adviser ‘once and for all time’ because the rules and procedures that affect our clients’ lives are constantly changing. That’s what makes advice work so interesting – and challenging!

But good quality training can be expensive, happen far away and is sometimes hard to find. The ANTP arranges regular, low cost, high quality training courses, delivered in Bradford District, with support from the Big Lottery Fund.

While the courses are aimed at advisers working in ANTP member organisations, we also welcome people from other organisations in Bradford District and beyond. So if you currently work in an advice centre, or you help clients with advice-related problems, then please read on.

What training do we provide?

We focus our training programme on the main generalist advice areas: benefits/tax credits, debt, housing, employment, immigration and related issues. Please go to the ANTP training programme by clicking here to see details of our current and forthcoming training courses.

The trainers we use are either nationally recognised training organisations or local, experienced advice practitioners. Courses offer appropriate accreditation for the type and level of course provided (eg CPD or OISC). Please check the ANTP training programme by clicking here.

If you do not find a course that is suitable for you, then please contact our training worker to discuss your needs: javeda@antp.org.uk.
