Debt
First Aid:
thousands of people in Bradford District are struggling with
debts. Local advice centres can help people maximise their income, negotiate
with their creditors and get their finances back under control. You don't
need to be an expert to help people recognise their debt problems and
take the first steps to dealing with them.

for course details.
Incapacity
Benefit re-assessment:
about
20,000 people in Bradford District receive Incapacity Benefit and thousands
more claim Employment Support Allowance (ESA). The government is using
the Work Capability Assessment (WCA) to re-assess everyone on Incapacity
Benefit, testing whether they are 'fit for work'. Last year, local advice
centres helped hundreds of sick or disabled people who had their benefits
wrongly stopped. If you work with sick or disabled people of working age,
you can play a vital role in helping them to understand the assessment
process, explain their health problems and get independent adive if they
have problems.

Benefit
cuts and changes:
welcome
to the world of welfare reform. The government has announced £18
billion of cuts to welfare spending between 2011 and 2014. The changes
will affect Housing Benefit, Disability Allowance, the Social Fund, tax
credits and the Universal Credit will replace all other working age benefits
from 2013. Different types of people will be affected in different ways
and at different times. You can help people to understand what is (and
is not) happening and where to get advice.

Course
booking/closing dates and confirmations
All our courses have a closing date for booking a place,
usually a few weeks before the date of the course. This is important
so please send your completed booking form to us before the closing date
for the course you want to attend.
Soon after
the closing date, we will confirm whether you have a place on the course
and send you details of how to get to the venue along with an invoice
(if you have not sent a cheque).
If there
are not enough people booked to make it viable to run the course, or if
there are too many people booked to offer you a place, we will inform
you at that date and return any cheques sent.
Note:
some courses may be very popular so we will ensure that as many ANTP members
as possible can attend. In these circumstances, we reserve the right to
limit the number of places per organisation.
